Public farmland auctions and sealed bid and private auction work in similar ways, however the process to qualify or participate is quite different. Public auctions are open to the public and bidders may register to bid the day of the auction or in advance on the land auction website. Sealed bid auctions require an advanced bid to participate with a percentage of money down. In some cases there may be other details or requirements set forth in the pre-auction information packet.
